AvitaS Global is the centre for audio and
audio-visual training for technical professionals
This is a one day course aimed at helping those working with power in the events industry to understand their legal obligations and what the requirements of the IET Wiring Regulations and BS 7909 are.
The one day course focuses on how – and why - the IET Wiring regulations and BS 7909 apply to temporary events and delves a little into why they are relevant and more importantly how compliance is not necessarily difficult. As well as looking at how to implement them correctly it also examples where current practice is not always best practice, showing where potential dangers exist in a typical event. It will also be of particular use to rental companies as the course gives the delegate a sound understanding of the importance of portable appliance testing.
The content is aimed at those with a reasonable appreciation of electrical systems and covers areas such as multiple sources of supply, RCDs, earthing and bonding, inspection and testing as well as the management of temporary electrical infrastructure amongst others. Both those with a technical managerial background as well as technicians will gain from the course.
It takes delegates through the salient parts of the standards, demonstrates where current practice is not necessarily good practice and gives guidance on various electrical distribution issues such as circuit protection, earthing and bonding and the management of electrical infrastructure at events.
The course will be delivered by those with direct experience of the live events and broadcast industries and who are also directly involved in the creation of BS 7909 and BS 7671.
Installation Europe guide to voice alarm
There is so much confusion about voice alarm. Which standards are applicable, how voice alarm systems should be designed, installed and maintained. It is intended to be an easy to read guide to give you an overall understanding of the legislation and techniques involved.
We explain the background behind voice alarm systems - BS5839, EN60849, ISO7240, EN54 and many of the standards related to them. We also explain the exemptions concerning BS7827 and the Green Guide, when dealing with sports grounds.
This guide explains the huge changes to the regulations and puts them in the context of the many other British, European and Worldwide standards.
This guide is ideal for manufacturers, installers, consultants and clients.
